Socio-Economic Geography of Bulgaria

It is part of a group for Bulgarian geographical sciences, which defines not only its place in the preparation of specialists with higher geographical education, but its importance in understanding of national identity and affiliation of Bulgarian students. It is impossible to prepare senior executives geography without thorough, systematic and specific knowledge of socio-economic geography of Bulgaria.
The course "Socio-Economic Geography of Bulgaria" pay close attention to studying administrative and territorial structure, socio-economic zoning and the new regional policy. These segments form the scientific methodology of the course and reveal important application areas of socio-economic and environmental geographic studies of Bulgaria. An attempt was made to present and explain the latest techniques and scientific approaches in the study of socio-economic geography of Bulgaria, as neravnovesnost and sustainability of local natural and social systems, the principles of balanced development in the country, the effect of subsidiarity in development and the organization of regional systems.
Geography of Population and Settlements

The course "Geography of population and settlements" is one of the disciplines of the specialty Geography. It aims: to explain the methodology for the study of population and settlements and its application in practice; to give knowledge about basic concepts, categories, and indicators and reveal features and patterns in the development and spatial location of population and settlements on Earth under the influence of various socio-economic and natural conditions. Analyze the patterns and trends in the formation of various ethno-confessional communities and conflicts associated with them. Theoretical issues, concepts and categories that are studied are the basis for the preparation of students in disciplines where the population and settlements are considered regionally.
The material is structured in two parts - Geography of population and geography of the settlements. The first part deals with the methodological characteristics of the relationship "population - area" population structure and behavior of the urbanized population, with their manifestation on Earth. The main issues in the second part include the types and forms of settlements, functions and classifications of cities and geographical development of the largest urban agglomerations in the world.
The content of the course is consistent with the educational material that is taught in secondary schools and helps to prepare the teaching staff for this purpose.
Theoretical Geography

The main objective of the course "Theoretical geography" to reveal a narrower plan creation, development and periodization of geographical science and the formation of geographical paradigms; explain and demonstrate the unity of scientific geography, its place in the system of science and nomotetichnata nature of geographical knowledge. Special attention is paid to the content of the main geographical categories and their modern scientific interpretation. The theoretical geography is the core of modern geographical knowledge that is developing very dynamically in recent decades. The need to develop the theory in geography motivated and proves the position it precisely maintains its integrity and holistic. The policy of scientific analysis in the course is also aimed at revealing the structure of modern geography and formulating new ways and with new content on its subject.
Fulfillment of the given goal can be achieved by tracking the main and most original methods and paradigms in the history of geographical knowledge, detection of very important regional patterns in complex and multifaceted interaction between human society and nature, the uniqueness of the location of geographic objects, justifying the new model for the structure of scientific knowledge and the place of geography in it, applied aspects of geographical studies and essence of sustainable and balanced eco-social development of modern civilization.
Territorial Organization of the Economy

The course is compulsory in educational degree "Bachelor" for students of geography - regular and part-time training.
The main objective of the course is to reveal the scientific and explain to students the origin and structure of the economy in its development and operation in the geographic area; To clarify the nature of algorithms and theoretical models for localization, development and spatial organization of businesses; to reveal the factors and regularities of the territorial and regional organization holding motivating overwhelming scientific theoretical and applied significance of geographical research farm in the planning and management activities of human society.
Timeliness and necessity but the course is complemented by the fact that in today's economy performed exceptionally dynamic quality and structural changes under the influence mainly on information technology and scientific and technical progress. The course "Fundamentals of territorial organization of the farm" solves a very important task: classifies and summarizes the theoretical and methodological level of empirical knowledge of the students of the course "Geography of world economy."
